महाराष्ट्राचं लाडकं व्यक्तिमत्व पु. ल. देशपांडे यांचं हे जन्मशताब्दी वर्ष. पु ल देशपांडे म्हणजे एक आनंदयात्री. साहित्य, नाट्य , चित्रपट, संगीत अश्या विविध क्षेत्रात त्यांनी मनमुक्त मुशाफिरी केली आणि महाराष्ट्राला आपल्या कलेनं समृद्ध केलं. पु. ल. देशपांडे यांच्या साहित्य स्मृतींना उजाळा देण्यासाठी आणि त्यांच्या प्रतिभेचा वारसा आजच्या पिढीनेही जपावा यासाठी महाराष्ट्र राज्य सांस्कृतिक कार्य संचालनालय जाहीर करत आहेत पु. ल. देशपांडे यांच्या साहित्यावर आधारित एकपात्री सादरीकरण स्पर्धा. ही स्पर्धा महाराष्ट्रातील ३६ केंद्रांवर होत आहे. प्रत्येक केंद्रावरील विजेत्याला २०००० रु. आणि उपविजेत्याला १५००० रु. सह प्रशस्तिपत्र मिळणार आहे.

या स्पर्धेत पु. ल. देशपांडे लिखित एकांकिका, नाटक, ललित लेख, कथा, कादंबरी अशा कोणत्याही साहित्य प्रकारातले निवडलेल्या भागाचे, एकपात्री सादरीकरण करता येईल.
